“Gestures of Belonging”
Inna Lipovets (Director & Screenplay)
Experimental film, 2026, 7 min.
An experimental dance film about memory, home(s), and inner/outer figures of Elders, creatures, andsacred monsters who live in “deep time” and reveal alternative ways of coexistence and living together. The movement research and filming took place in the ecologically sensitive landscapes of Arran (Scotland) and Okinawa (Japan).
“Gorndorf, Texas”
Riccardo Dejan Jurković and Josefine Rauch (Directors & Screenplay)
Documentary, 2025, 15 min.
In a small town in Thuringia, far from the prairies of the U.S., two Wild West enthusiasts pursue their own American dream. “Gorndorf, Texas” transports viewers into a world of nostalgic romanticization of the Wild West that has persisted in the new federal states since the GDR era. In a landscape shaped by socialist culture, many people sought an escape from their reality in Native American clubs and at Western festivals. The film shows how this idealized notion of vastness and freedom continues to shape the lives of today’s generation and serves as an escape from the bleak present.
“The Outside, the Night”
Jakob Heimann (Concept & Production)
Experimental film, 2026, 13 min.
“The Outside, the Night” is an experimental film in search of the origins of imagination and inspiration. Images and sounds break free, take on a life of their own, and embark on this quest. They disappear and reappear; they grow and shrink. Through three short narratives, all sharing a common refrain, the film attempts to approach the Orphic moment of inspiration.
“And What Grade Are You In?”
Justin Merkens (Director & Screenplay)
Feature Film, 2026, 28 min.
Twenty-year-old Tobias withdraws from the outside world and even ignores messages from his childhood friend Alex. He doesn’t want to talk about his problem. When he meets Alex’s successful college classmate at Alex’s birthday party, he is confronted with the disparity between their realities. Their friendship is put to the test when Tobias’ pent-up frustration erupts during a drunken binge.
