The finale of Peter Jackson's brilliant fantasy trilogy, in which the companions go their separate ways to seal their own fate and that of Middle-earth.
The remaining members of the Fellowship of the Ring set out for the final battle for Middle-earth, while the hobbits Sam and Frodo approach Mordor to single-handedly destroy the One Ring and stop evil in its tracks. But it is not only the men of the evil Sauron who prove to be an obstacle; Gollum, driven by his inner demons, also has cunning plans.
