Die Kunst der Gemeinschaft – Open House mit Künstler*innen

Over the past ten years, the Alliance of International Production Houses has specialized not only in international performing arts but also in local artistic strategies. In urban neighborhoods, local networks, and in collaboration with self-empowering communities, a diverse, viral art of community is emerging. At the “Claiming Common Spaces” festival in Düsseldorf, members of the Alliance and their partners invite the audience to engage:

Migrantpolitan on the Kampnagel grounds in Hamburg is a space for action where diasporic and local artists engage in a process of exchange, jointly develop transcultural strategies, and experiment with new aesthetic practices.  

The Migrantpolitan initiative “Hools of Fashion” is opening a secret shop in the FFT foyer: street couture with a political edge and a dash of anarchy.

The women of the Arab Themed Table from Berlin-Kreuzberg will present their film “Through Our Eyes.” In it, they tell their own stories—as writers, directors, and creators of image and sound.

At the Konrad Lunch on the FFT forecourt, we’ll exchange ideas with participants from the Neighborhood Lunch at WerkStadt in Essen-Katernberg.

At “Dance like nobody’s watching – remixed” in the tanzhaus foyer, blind and visually impaired artists invite everyone to dance together.
