Miriam (Tomomi Themann) moves in with her friend Ida (Emilia Maier) for a few months and attends the Winterstein School with her during this time - without suspecting that magic is part of everyday life there. On the very first day, Mr. Morrison (Milan Peschel) surprises the class with two new magical animals: Max (Thilo Fridolin Matthes) is accompanied by the clever owl Muriel (voice in the original German: Annett Louisan), while Miriam is given the lively leprechaun Fitzgeraldo (Daniel Zillmann). While Muriel notices hints of Max's feelings for Leonie (Purnima Grätz), Miriam opens up to her new animal companion and talks about her experiences as an outsider. The situation at Winterstein School comes to a head when Ida accidentally learns that the school is about to close. The upcoming school challenge becomes a crucial opportunity to avert the end. Things get even more complicated for Miriam when it turns out that her old school is also competing. She has to find her place between her old affiliation and new confidence. The class joins forces to face the challenge - in the hope of preserving their school and the magical secret.
