Dizzee Rascal is a pioneer of the British rap scene. He has been shaping the rules of grime as a rapper, producer and songwriter since the early 2000s and laid the foundations of the genre with his debut album "Boy in da Corner". The album made him the youngest winner of the Mercury Prize at the age of just 19. With this, Dizzee Rascal not only crowned his career debut - he legitimized an underground and set the course for artists between Stormzy and Dave. But the rapper has celebrated other major milestones in his career: including several awards, four number 1 singles, a performance at the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games and, last but not least, recognition of his cultural influence in the UK by being awarded the MBE title (Member of the Order of the British Empire). In October, Dizzee Rascal 's We Want Bass Tour will take him to Cologne's Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld and Berlin's Columbia Theater.

When Dizzee Rascal released his debut album "Boy in da Corner" in 2003, the singles "I Luv U", "Fix Up, Look Sharp" and "Jus' a Rascal" became real flagships for a new voice in the British rap game. With a choppy, conversational flow and the sensibility of a producer, the rapper from Bow in East London combined minimalist beats from edgy UK garage with reportage-like lyrics from street life. A sound that Dizzee Rascal, together with his mentor Wiley, made suitable for the masses. With his follow-up albums "Showtime" (2004) and "Maths + English" (2007), he further expanded his musical palette and his fame and paved the way for a series of era-defining pop-rap singles: "Dance Wiv Me" feat. Calvin Harris, "Bonkers", "Holiday" and "Dirtee Disco" all became British number 1 hits and formed the basis for his platinum album "Tongue n' Cheek" (2009). The crossover album "The Fifth" followed in 2013, after which Dizzee returned to his usual bite and tempo on "Raskit" (2017) and "E3 AF" (2020).

In 2024, Dizzee Rascal released "Don't Take It Personal " - an energetic album packed with catchy hooks, which was released via his own label Big Dirtee. He also crowned his productivity with the surprising release of the EP "I Invented Grime". On both releases, he proved his flair for club-ready beats and snappy one-liners that have characterized him since the beginning of his career.
