Einsteins Piano: Harmen Fraanje

This concert in the Einstein Piano series takes place at Einstein. The internet portal AllAboutJazz once counted Dutchman Harmen Fraanje among the most impressive young European pianists of the last decade. Why is that? Perhaps because this virtuoso is so versatile, always thinking beyond the horizon and constantly searching for new sources of inspiration and means of expression. However, no one should confuse the versatility of the fundamentally curious Harmen Fraanje with arbitrariness. The sound world of this pianist is as colorful as it is homogeneous.

Harmen Fraanje is rightly responsible for the jazz piano faculty at the Amsterdam Conservatory. You can only learn from him. He has developed his musical world view and vision in solo projects, in a trio with the cellist Ernst Reijseger and the percussionist/vocalist Mola Sylla, in a duo with the Norwegian trumpeter Arve Henriksen, in the Mads Eilertsen Trio, Eric Vloieman's Fugimundi Trio, Michael Moore's Fraglie Quartet and in various formations with highly diverse instrumentation and stylistic orientations.
