In the organizer's words:
It’s rare enough for two people to share the same vision. Pianist and synthesizer player Emilia Gołos and singer Zuza Jasinska, however, quickly realized that they had an identical conception of music. The Polish duo places great importance on contrasting the familiar with the unfamiliar, juxtaposing song forms with experimental freedom, and to unite tonality and atonality, acoustic and electronic soundscapes, as well as to blend jazz and folklore, singer-songwriter aesthetics and the avant-garde.
The music of this duo of friends is based on mutual trust; it is unashamedly intimate and fragile, strikingly profound, highly expressive, at times minimalist in nature, and always eager to discover something new. *Imho*, the first joint album by the duo Emilia Gołos and Zuza Jasinska, impressively demonstrated what the two are capable of. A second album is currently in the works.
The Unheard series enjoyed success at the Unterfahrt in 2019 and 2021 and will now continue this year with eight concerts in Hall 4 at Einstein Kultur. Developed as a project with the JazzStiftung München and curated by the Unterfahrt and mucjazz e.V. , is dedicated to providing a platform for promising young musicians from various competitions—including the Munich Jazz Prize—and giving them the attention they have long deserved.
