In the organizer's words:

“Weaving Knowledge: A Life of Dignity, Memory, and Community in Times of Turmoil”

We invite you to a gathering in the “Summer School” format. A weekend of creative and varied workshops at the Careteria in Munich. With a group of 15 to 20 participants, we want to explore collective and personal experiences related to the themes of a dignified life, community, and memory in times of turmoil.

The goal is to try out different approaches and perspectives on these themes, gain practical experience, engage in critical discussion, and work together to develop perspectives that will enable us to take action.

Under the motto “Weaving Knowledge,” we will combine artistic practice, creative formats, and contributions from the Latin American diaspora with local experiences: art workshops, the collaborative creation of collages, and contributions on topics such as extractivism, ecocide, and socio-ecological transformation, to foster collective learning.

The quest for “Buen Vivir”—that is, a life of dignity for all—is a concern for many people in these times of multiple crises. How do we understand this concept and alternative of Buen Vivir? To explore answers to this and other questions, we want to create a safe space where we can share our thoughts, experiences, and knowledge and make them tangible in a practical way.

To this end, we have developed a concept for open workshops, featuring artistic activities, theoretical explorations, and a cultural program, which will be offered primarily to Spanish-speaking participants.

No prior experience with these topics is necessary; the only requirement is a basic level of Spanish (oral comprehension and expression). Where needed, whispered translation will be available. Don’t let language be a barrier! If you’d like to participate, please contact us.

When and where? July 4 and 5, 2026, at the Careteria in Munich

Registration: elsal@oeku-buero.de

We cordially invite you to a two-day“Summer School.” During a creative and varied workshop weekend at the Careteria in Munich, we’d like to explore—in a group of 15–20 participants—collective and personal experiences related to the themes of the good life, community, and memory in turbulent times.

The goal is to try out different approaches to addressing these topics, gain practical experience, engage in critical discussion, and jointly develop actionable perspectives. Under the guiding theme “Tejiendo Saberes,” we combine artistic practice, creative formats, and thematic inputs from the Latin American diaspora with local experiences: artistic workshops, collaborative collage-making, and thematic discussions on topics such as extractivism, ecocide, and socio-ecological transformation form the framework for our shared learning.

The search for “Buen Vivir”—that is, the good life for all—is on many people’s minds in these times of multiple crises. We want to create a safe space where we can share our thoughts, experiences, and knowledge on this topic and bring them to life through hands-on activities.
To this end, we have developed an open workshop concept featuring artistic sessions and a music program, which is intended primarily for Spanish-speaking people.

No prior experience with these topics is necessary. A basic level of Spanish (understanding/speaking) is required; whispered translation is available in some cases. Do you speak only a little Spanish but would still like to participate? Then please contact us.
