Henriette Eilertsen Trio

Born in 1993, Henriette Eilertsen was the first flautist in Norway to graduate from the Norges Musikkhøgskole in Oslo with a bachelor's degree in jazz flute. This may read like a side note, but it shows how much the flute still lives the existence of an orchid instrument today. With her debut album "Poems for Flute", Eilertsen has already brought the stylistic diversity and aesthetic uniqueness of the flute into focus and played her instrument with captivating improvisational artistry and dazzling brilliance. She is coming to Cologne with her trio, with whom she recently released "Moder" (German for "mother"). Her music is powerful and sensitive at the same time, her playing on the flute is emblematic and mysterious. She likes the high registers of her instrument, which can be so crystalline and warm at the same time. And Eilertsen loves the interaction with drums and guitar, when repetitive patterns that sound like minimal music create a trance-like, ritualistic mood over time.
