Pola Debevoise (Marilyn Monroe), Loco Dempsey and Schatze Page have a plan. The latter in particular has had enough of love after her unsuccessful marriage and has only one goal, namely to marry a millionaire. The three women rent a furnished luxury penthouse in New York City and keep their heads above water financially by selling the furnishings. However, the search for millionaire husbands turns out to be more difficult than expected, and over time they learn that wealth means much more than owning oil, money and diamonds.

In the romantic comedy HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE, Marilyn Monroe plays one of three young models and shines as Pola with her slapstick humor. She is ashamed of her glasses, which she desperately needs, and therefore stumbles through her dates almost blind without them - but all the more entertaining for the audience.
