KISSES FROM SNAIL is a utopian play with life concepts and an attempt to reformulate ideas of kinship and family. In this performance, the symbolic functions of father, mother and child are playfully redistributed and detached from the anatomical body. The three performers move on stage in a space filled with images of family from a Christian occidental culture, in which new forms of kinship claim their place on the other side. How can the images and expectations of society, of the state, of religious conventions be reconciled with their own? A play full of relish and a plea for a new view of family emerges on stage. Three dancers, three biographies, one fiction.
KISSES FROM SNAIL is the second part of a trilogy in which waltraud900 examines female role models from a feminist, intercultural perspective, starting with the grandmothers of the artists at the beginning of the 20th century and ending with the daughters who will raise their voices in the future.
