One of the outstanding exhibits at MiQua is the so-called Amsterdam Machsor, a prayer book for the holidays from the 13th century, which was produced in Cologne. It is characterized by the large number of religious poems, the pijjutim, that can be found there. They were and are recited during church services. It is a very old art of poetry that dates back to antiquity.

Using examples from the Amsterdam Machsor, the lecture aims to provide an introduction to the diverse and traditional world of pijjutim. This short lecture will be offered several times between 5 and 7 pm. Just drop by!
