In this presentation, Prof. Dr. Thomas Klenzner, together with Susann Thyson and Maika Werminghaus (all from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf), will discuss the latest research findings on the treatment of hearing loss, as well as how cochlear implants work and the options they offer. The presentation will highlight aspects of prevention and the positive effects of early hearing intervention on quality of life, participation, and social inclusion. In addition, it will discuss how education, interaction, and mindful communication can raise societal awareness of the needs of people with hearing impairments and help break down barriers in everyday life.
