Lesung & Talk: ADHS verstehen - ohne als Familie den Verstand zu verlieren
In the organizer's words:
ADHD never affects just one person—it takes over entire families, bringing noise and laughter, anger and tears. When the breakfast table turns into a battlefield and homework becomes a test of courage, it’s not perfectionism that helps, but understanding.
In her book *Understanding ADHD—Without Losing Your Mind as a Family*, Berit Hullmann shares honest and heartfelt stories from her family life with ADHD: from headphones in the elevator shaft to impulsive outbursts and moments when affection is the strongest medicine. She explains what lies behind an ADHD diagnosis and reveals how parents learn to balance despair with tenderness. Her book is a first-aid kit for anyone caught up in the chaos of ADHD—helping parents support their children without losing their minds. In this event, she’ll discuss this with Nikolaos Georgakis, program director at VHS Essen.
Admission to the reading costs €9. Tickets are available here.
