With “Masters of Opera,” the Minguet Quartet pays tribute to three composers who have had a lasting impact on music history both on the opera stage and in the realm of the string quartet: Mozart, Beethoven, and Hans Werner Henze. This programmatic juxtaposition opens up exciting perspectives between the Classical and Modern eras and reveals how Henze’s artistry as a quartet composer enters into a vibrant dialogue with the great traditions.
The internationally renowned Minguet Quartet, which has performed on the world’s major stages since 1988, captivates audiences with its passionate sound and thoughtful programming. Inspired by its namesake, Pablo Minguet, who sought to make art accessible to all, the ensemble combines interpretive depth with immediate expressiveness. A concert that brings both familiar masterpieces and contemporary voices to life in equal measure and impressively showcases the diversity of the string quartet genre.
