The Odonische Freitagsbühne is afree concert series that takes place every Friday from May through September in Odonien’s sculpture park. It offers local and regional musicians—especiallyup-and-coming artists—a valuable opportunity to perform their music for an audience.

Free admission, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; donations for the artists are appreciated.

Hertzkammer presents “Newcomer Sounds,” featuring highly talented newcomers who each bring their very own “pop sound.” Since we want to introduce you to as many artists as possible, it’ll be a vibrant evening with LIVE MUSIC, cold drinks, and wonderful people. So please come early so that as many artists as possible get a chance to perform. It’s the perfect occasion to discover new music and connect with other members of the Cologne music scene. We’re looking forward to it!

7:00 p.m.TAKE OFF TO NOVAA power trio in the tradition of Jimi Hendrix, The Police, and Rush. Their songs unfold with a rich array of nuances. Vintage guitar riffs à la Led Zeppelin contrast with pop-infused melodies that embody an “eighties” playfulness and “coolness.” The three musicians showcase a penchant for jazz-rock with improvised solos.

8:00 p.m. this:array play dark pop, pop-infused wave, and wave-inspired sad-core. The trio from Cologne loves the quiet moments just as much as the loud ones and switches back and forth to their heart’s content between euphoric noise and melancholic restraint. Buckle up for a journey through the landscapes of human existence.

9:00 p.m. GONG WAHfrom Cologne play fuzzwave, a wild mix of distorted guitars, ’80s new wave, and a dash of synth-pop. Combined with the unmistakable voice of singer Inga Nelke, this creates the signature GONG WAH sound, which unfolds in their rousing, varied three-and-a-half-minute bangers.

7:00 p.m. Young Diver & Die Tropenboys They’retough and heartbroken, navigating the Bermuda Triangle between pop, funk, punk, and rap with German lyrics and their hybrid sound. They celebrate the big in the small. Sometimes dancing, sometimes stomping amid exuberance and melancholy, but always with humor.

8:00 p.m. KARLA Duo: These are Alexandra Schedel and Nina Flieder, two musicians from Leipzig whose voices blend so harmoniously that they often sound like one. Their music moves between acoustic pop, chanson, and jazz, and tells stories—with sensitivity and humor—about what moves and accompanies the two of them. KARLA tells stories that touch the heart, bring a smile to your face, and sometimes even get under your skin.

9:00 p.m. Tjark aus dem Frühlingsgarten tells his very personal stories in his songs—stories that are both moving and relatable. Behind Tjark aus dem Frühlingsgarten is the Leipzig-based musician Tjark Schönball (known, among other things, from the band BUBE), who enriches the German pop music scene with a little gem of a new solo project.

7:00 p.m.Cosmotherhave been shaking the stage with their psychedelic stoner space rock since 2019. With earthy power, massive riffs, and cosmic soundscapes, the all-female band catapults the audience into universal expanses, allowing only one direction: into the void and beyond.

8:00 p.m.Crimson Rootsdraw deeply from the blues to create expansive, haunting music in which progressive structures and psychedelic timbres meet emotion and storytelling.

9:00 p.m. Smokemaster is a psychedelic rock band from Cologne. Their music is danceable and intuitive. It blends various styles from the psychedelic rock spectrum in a way that allows listeners to forget their everyday lives for a moment.

7:00 p.m. Matthis Löw,harpist & singer-songwriterMatthis Löw,from Saarbrücken, is known for his performances on the harp and singing at Pride events, demonstrations, on the street, in churches, and at celebrations throughout Germany. In his songs—in German, English, and Spanish—he takes a clear stand for a cosmopolitan, tolerant society. 

8:00 p.m. Deivido & Band Deivido, a musician, guitarist, and singer from Cameroon, captivates audiences with a unique blend of reggae, Afro-jazz, bossa nova, zouk, Afrobeat, and more. Accompanied by his band and with a multilingual repertoire—in Bassa, French, and English—he sings about love, peace, and education. Deivido sees music as a universal language that connects and moves people. His compositions are vivid stories that touch the heart and soul.

9:00 p.m.The StrobophonicsIndie Rock / Wave TheStrobophonics from Cologne combine the dark charm of post-punk with the cool elegance of wave. Paired with the energy of indie rock, the band creates its own unique style: at times driving and forward-moving, at others atmospheric and deep. A band that takes the audience on a journey through light and shadow.

7:00 p.m. Amouri isa versatile artist who stands out for his emotional and socially conscious music. Drawing on his Syrian heritage, he produces multilingual songs that address topics such as peace, politics, and personal experiences. 

7:30 p.m. Karla Leehasestablished herself in recent years as one of the most promising talents on Cologne’s R&B scene. Her warm, deep voice and her ability to convey intimate emotions through a minimalist yet profound sound make her one of the most exciting newcomers of her generation. 

8:00 p.m.The Flamenco ThiefAcoustic Instrumental CraigSutton, also known as “The Flamenco Thief,” is an English instrumentalist who combines fingerstyle and percussive guitar techniques to create a classical-contemporary Mediterranean sound with strong South American influences. His music blends Spanish acoustic music, Latin, rumba, and bossa nova with hip-hop and electronica.

9:00 p.m. MilodonPsychedelic funk-rock trioMilodon’s livesoundis danceable, kaleidoscopic, and transcends musical and cultural boundaries. Formed in December 2017 to fuse the three musicians’ love for 1960s funk and psychedelic rock and 1970s jazz fusion into an innovative and utopian musical vision.

6:30 p.m.GreinerRock Greiner want it loud. They never thought rock ’n’ roll was dead, which is why they never stopped playing it. Maybe we need it right now: If you look around the world, you’ll find plenty of reasons to make some noise. Greiner draw on their own sense of uncertainty, their longing for lightheartedness, and their desire to expose injustices. Can you assure me that you feel the same way?

8:30 p.m. LA FANFARRIA DEL CAPITAN is an Argentine band that combines rock, Latin American rhythms, and world music. They are troubadours, travelers, and explorers. For 10 years, they’ve been traveling the world with extraordinary live music shows full of emotion and energy. Every year, they tour internationally and perform 80 concerts in Latin America, Europe, Russia, China, and Japan, at major festivals and renowned venues. They have performed in more than 150 cities throughout Germany—and are now set to bring their Latin American vibe to Heckenbeck for the second time!

7:00 p.m.Davids Bejers’*Philosophie* Cologne-basedguitarist and composer Davids Bejers presents his latest album, *Philosophie* (2026), live at Odonien. The music spans modern jazz, indie, and atmospheric songwriting—sounding somewhere between Radiohead and Bill Frisell. Together with a quartet from the Cologne music scene, the band combines improvisational openness with clear, song-oriented structures. The pieces range from intimate ballads to rhythmically open, energetic passages. 

8:00 p.m.DNS JazzJazz-fusion band DNSJAZZ is a five-piece jazz-fusion band from Frankfurt am Main. Bandleader and composer Dennis Sekretarev grew up as the child of a Jewish-Ukrainian family in the Soviet Union, Israel, Germany, and the U.S. In addition to diverse cultural backgrounds and compositions, the quintet blends influences ranging from house to hip-hop. Virtuoso improvisation meets atmospheric effects, pounding beats, and funky basslines. The result is a fresh jazz sound that is as profound as it is danceable. 

9:00 p.m.Die MonologenThe jazz-fusion band DieMonologen navigates the tension between free improvisation and rap, creating a unique sound that transcends clear genre boundaries. The band consists of Nazz Nyxz (vocals), Luna Weise (synths), Tim von Malotki (saxophone, electronics), and Andy Hafner (drums).
