Poesie-briefe an die Zukunft
In the organizer's words:
A project by the Poesieboten brings different generations together on stage. This fall, the Giesinger Kulturbahnhof will be the setting where the visions of Munich residents of all ages come together.
The future is written in the here and now—preferably in the form of poetry. This is the motto of an ambitious cultural project that will energize the neighborhood in the coming weeks. What began as an idea at the last Poesiecafé 2025 is now growing into a major, cross-generational cultural event: “Voices of Tomorrow – Poetic Letters to the Future.”
Project director Isis Marschall is introducing the topic to Class 8 cm at Fromund Middle School during their German class. At the poetry stage event marking the conclusion of the project, the voices and thoughts of both the teenagers and other age groups on the topic of the future will be heard. In this way, the initiative deliberately opens its doors to all poetic visions of Munich’s future.
The poetry ambassadors are calling on all Munich-based poets to contribute by sending or dropping off their letters to the future at the poetry mailbox, marked “Zukunft,” at Wirtstraße 17, 81539 Munich. All submitted letters will be displayed and stored in a time capsule for the future.
On October 8, 2026, at 6 p.m., the stage at the Giesinger Kulturbahnhof will be transformed into a
poetic time capsule. Anyone who would like to read their work here can register by email.
