Savas Coban, 29, has a goal. He wants to make a living as an extreme athlete. He still lives with his sister Hülja in Bremen, spends his time training and continues to work tenaciously on his big breakthrough. To prove to his family and himself that he can realize his dream, he sets himself a deadline: he wants to be able to make a living from extreme sports by the end of 2023.

So he decides to embark on an almost unbelievable project: to cross Peru in an ultra run and set the world record in extreme sports. In 87 days, he runs 87 ultramarathons through all climate zones, through desert, rainforest and the Andes, and not even political unrest with roadblocks and burning barricades can stop him. He pushes himself to and beyond his physical limits, but giving up is never an option. TRAIL OF DREAMS is a film that shows Savas on his search for identity, driven between the expectations of his family and his own dreams, between reason and hope, financial existential hardships, the wealth of being free and his unconditional will to make it.
