Voices of Rojava- Benefizkonzert im Kulturbunker

Zenda - the Kurdish women's initiative - and the Kulturbunker invite you to the "Voices of Rojava" benefit concert.

The current escalation of attacks on the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria has forced thousands of people to flee, many of them women and children. At the same time, Rojava is under systematic pressure - and this is precisely where resistance becomes visible: resistance that opens up the body, language, immaterial archives, texts and also social perspectives. Rojava is the site of a women's revolution: women are taking on responsibility in politics, society, education and defense and are shaping a vision of equal rights and collective self-determination.

The benefit concert "Voices of Rojava" draws attention to this situation, shows solidarity and collects donations for WJAS - the Free Women's Foundation in Syria. WJAS supports women in North and East Syria with humanitarian aid, education and training projects as well as psychosocial and health support and creates shelters in times of war and displacement.

In addition to the music, there will be political speeches and a contribution on the current situation in North and East Syria. It will explain how the attacks particularly affect women and civilian structures and how women in Rojava are fighting for their rights and a just society in their own councils.

The focus is on the women's revolution in Rojava: education, self-organization, economic independence and self-defence are central elements of this resistance.

Zenda - the Kurdish Women's Information Office is an initiative of Kurdish women that networks, informs and empowers women in order to promote social change. The name "Zenda" means lively, powerful and full of life in Kurdish. It is reminiscent of the character Zenda from Mem û Zîn - a symbol of dignity, courage and self-determination.
