Adventskonzert mit dem Chor der Deutschen Welle
In the organizer's words:
Music transcends boundaries, opens hearts, and brings people together—regardless of their background or religion. People around the world celebrate the Christmas season in many different ways: contemplatively and solemnly, but also exuberantly, joyfully, and rousingly. This is expressed in a special way through music. The Deutsche Welle Choir reflects this diversity—in its repertoire and in its presentation: It takes the audience on a journey around the world with Christmas songs from every corner of the globe, performed in the original language and in a choral arrangement that stays as true to the original as possible. And the female singers in particular, dressed in their respective national costumes, visually convey the message of music as a universal language that unites people.
The choir was founded more than 30 years ago by employees of Deutsche Welle. As its success grew, it opened its doors to external singers with international backgrounds. This gave rise to a community of nearly 50 members from around 20 nations, which sees itself as an ambassador of peace, building bridges between people and cultures.
