In a revue, numerous artists, friends and activists pay tribute to the musician Metin Türköz, who wrote music history in Almanya in the 1970s. Music and film footage of Metin Türköz are the focus of the revue, which will be pointedly linked by personal impressions and encounters.
A moderator will guide the audience through the evening to bring together the different performances into a grand narrative. A narrative that brings together different worlds and builds bridges, ironically, socially critical and with a wink just like the life of Metin Türköz. It is the story of a former assembly line worker at Ford who decided to become a musician in order to write the soundtrack for life in Almanya. It is also the story of a Cologne native who was heard far beyond his city throughout Europe and now deserves a place in Cologne's urban history.
The revue will be carried by performances of Alpin Harrenkamp (moderator of the revue, daughter of Metin Türköz) // Nedim Hazar - (music contributions, filmmaker and musician Deutschlandlieder Ensemble) // Bengü Kocatürk-Schuster (activist and collaborator of DOMiD) // Kutlu Yurtseven (activist and co-founder of Microphone Mafia) // Cem Kaya (director "Aşk; Mark ve Ölüm") // Ozan Ata Canani (musician) // Imran Ayata & Bülent Kullukcu ( author, DJ & initiators of "Songs of Gastarbeiter") // Murat Güngör & Hannes Loh ( teacher, authors on migration & hip hop)
