Aufbruch - Marie Jacquot & Yulianna Avdeeva
In the organizer's words:
Marie Jacquot celebrates her debut concert as the new principal conductor of the WDR Symphony Orchestra with an evening full of magical sounds and visionary power. The program ranges from the ethereal prelude to Wagner’s opera “Lohengrin” to Chopin’s Piano Concerto in F minor and on to the visually evocative tone poems of the late Romantic period: “Andromède” by the Irish-French composer Augusta Holmès and “Le poème de l’extase” by the Russian Alexander Scriabin. Let yourself be captivated by this program—and experience the extraordinary pianist Yulianna Avdeeva, a former winner of the prestigious Warsaw Chopin Competition.
