Heaven’s Gate: A Case for Caruso
After months of bittersweet idleness on the Philippine island of Surogao, Caruso—a former German professional surfer and private investigator—is deeply in debt. Just then, a beautiful Spanish woman comes along at just the right time, hiring him to find her missing son. The island, a paradise for surfers and tourists on a journey of self-discovery, is a fiercely contested hub for drugs. Caruso’s investigation quickly leads him into an abyss of violence and corruption—and to more than one lost son.
