Kai Pannen: Du spinnst wohl

BIOGRAPHY
From Painting to Children’s Book Author
Kai Pannen was born and raised in Moers on the Lower Rhine. After graduating from high school and completing his alternative military service, he studied painting and film in Cologne. In the early 1990s, he began working as a freelancer, initially as an illustrator and animator. For many years, he created animated segments for the television magazine show *Plusminus*. He taught himself most of the techniques involved.

“You’re Crazy!”, a Bestseller
In 2015, Tulipan Verlag published the Christmas bestseller “You Must Be Crazy!”—a breakthrough that paved the way for him to work primarily as a children’s book author. However, he illustrates most of his books himself.

As an illustrator, he has already contributed to over 50 books; as an author, he currently has 19 books to his name—and hopefully there will be more to come…

You Don’t Talk to Your Food!
One beautiful December morning, the grumpy spider Karl-Heinz catches the fly Bisy in his web: a delicious holiday roast that, tied up in a spider-style bundle, is supposed to dangle in the web until Christmas Eve. Bisy has 24 days to talk Karl-Heinz out of his holiday plans. 24 days to really get on the spider’s nerves. And suddenly the question arises: who is actually the victim here, and who is the perpetrator?

The children’s book reading with Kai Pannen will take place at the COBRA Cinema and is not accessible to people with disabilities.
