In the organizer's words:
In her lecture, sociologist Agnes Khoo will discuss the role of women from Asia in the global fight against fascism. She comes from Singapore, has family ties to Malaysia, Dutch citizenship and teaches in China. In 2004, Khoo published an oral history project with women from Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore who fought in the anti-colonial guerrilla movement. It is the only monograph to date on women's resistance to British and Japanese imperialism.
