In the organizer's words:
The site where the Eierhäuschen and the Spreepark Art Space stand today is closely intertwined with the history of Berlin, the war, and the division of the city. This stretch of the Spree has also repeatedly served as the setting for political, economic, and cultural events. During her guided tour, Helena Ommert provides an introductory overview of the site’s history and the architecture of the Eierhäuschen. We’ll explore the nature, culture, and art surrounding the Eierhäuschen and Spreepark.
Please note:
Unfortunately, access to Spreepark is currently not possible due to construction work. However, the tour will provide information about the park’s ongoing redevelopment and offer exclusive insights depending on the construction site conditions.
Helena Ommertstudied painting at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art. As an artist, she addresses socio-ecological themes such as the concept of a social family, coexistence with non-human life, and garden culture. Seeds, small and microscopic organisms, and plants are the subjects of her artistic research and practice on cultural, political, and aesthetic levels. In addition to her artistic work, she serves as an art educator at various institutions in Berlin.
