Künstlerführung: Bridges Spreepark – Iván Argote stellt seine Arbeiten im Spreepark vor
In the organizer's words:
To mark the opening of his exhibition“A Place to Stay”at Spreepark Art Space, Iván Argote, together with Katja Aßmann (Artistic Director of Spreepark Art Space), will lead a tour through the construction site to his permanent installation “Bridges Spreepark”: Five bridges have been built around the island near the Ferris wheel. Where boats once glided across the water on the grand canal tour, plants now grow. Iván Argote’s sculptures invite viewers to gain new perspectives on the man-made landscape around the Ferris wheel and to reflect not only on the public space itself but also on the encounters and relationships of the people who use it.
Iván Argotewas born in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1983 and now lives and works in Paris. Through sculptures, public installations, films, paintings, and performances, Argote challenges prevailing narratives and explores the dynamics of public space and collective memory. He has created major public installations around the world—from Venice and New York to Paris, Bogotá, São Paulo, Douala, and London.
