When parents require care in a retirement or nursing home, significant costs arise that often cannot be covered by their own income from retirement or pension benefits, nor by long-term care insurance benefits. This raises a number of questions, which will be discussed here, such as:
- Use of the income and depletion of the assets of the person in need of care
- Overview of government benefits (long-term care allowance, long-term care housing allowance, social assistance)
