In the organizer's words:
Three extraordinary musicians come together in this trio to create an impressive world of sound between tranquillity, rhythmic energy and spontaneous improvisation: Khadim Seck, Tony Clark and Max Clouth. Inspired by Indian music, African traditions and modern jazz, the ensemble unfolds a multi-layered sound language of special atmospheric density.
The meditative lines of the Japanese shakuhachi flute are combined with delicate guitar textures and the earthy presence of percussion, ngoni and vocals. This creates expansive soundscapes full of subtle movements and organic dynamics - sometimes floating and introverted, sometimes powerful and expressive. The focus is on Frankfurt guitarist Max Clouth, whose intensive involvement with Indian music shapes his compositional language as much as his openness to jazz and experimental sound forms.
Together with the shakuhachi master Tony Clark and the Senegalese percussionist Khadim Seck, he develops a music that naturally transcends cultural boundaries and opens up a sensual and multi-faceted concert experience.
