In the organizer's words:
The Sheen Trio's music is characterized by densely interwoven atmospheres, multi-layered timbres and a haunting expressiveness. Between jazz, rock and experimental sound art, a delicate musical network is created that is influenced by Persian traditions as well as improvisational openness and contemporary aesthetics. The focus is on the Iranian clarinettist and composer Shabnam Parvaresh, whose musical path leads from Tehran to the European jazz landscape.
Together with guitarist Ula Martyn-Ellis and drummer Philipp Buck, she creates works of great emotional intensity and narrative depth. The compositions move between quiet meditation and eruptive power and revolve around themes such as memory, migration, identity and social change. Personal experiences merge with experimental sound research to create a musical language that is as intimate as it is universal.
The trio's debut album "Gozar" already established them as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary European jazz. The new program once again opens up impressive sound spaces - poetic, haunting and of great sensual presence.
