Klimaerhitzung oder Klimaerwärmung? Vortrag mit Diskussion
In the organizer's words:
Is the “end of the world as we knew it” looming? This provocative question was posed as early as 2009 in the book by C. Leggewie and H. Welzer. At that time, concerns about climate change and the future of our planet were already present, but the urgency seems even greater today. Has the danger been averted in the meantime? We’re still alive, one might say. But that alone cannot be taken as a green light. Rather, we should ask ourselves what needs to be done in Germany and around the world to preserve the foundations of life for future generations.
The challenges are manifold and require decisive action at the political, economic, and societal levels. In Germany, as one of Europe’s largest industrialized nations, we bear a special responsibility. We must find sustainable solutions that take ecological, social, and economic aspects into account equally. Only in this way can we ensure that the “end of the world as we knew it” does not become a bitter reality.
