Albania 1958: Luana is the self-confident daughter of a respected family. But an arranged marriage to Flamur, to whom she has been promised since childhood, forces her to deny her love for her childhood friend Agim. Even before the wedding, her fiancé Flamur shows his true colors: when her father witnesses him harassing his daughter, he breaks off the engagement, whereupon Flamur shoots him in an argument.
