NOTHING HAPPENS AFTER THE REVOLUTION
In the organizer's words:
NOTHING HAPPENS AFTER THE REVOLUTION
(Dir.: Omar Ibrahim; Sudan 2026; Original with English subtitles | DCP | 76 min.)
As filming is overshadowed by production problems, the director feels torn between his work and the impossibility of returning to his home country, Sudan, where a revolution is breaking out. Plagued by doubts about his film NOTHING HAPPENS AFTER THE REVOLUTION, he begins teaching his young daughter his native language. When his cinematographer leaves Egypt for Sweden and eventually informs him that he is ending their collaboration, the tone of the voice-over narration also shifts. It expands into a contemplative reflection on exile, physical distance, grief, and the transmission of language and memory.
