Even at over 90 years of age, Alexander Kluge, perhaps Germany's last universal genius, still proves to be an experimental collector of images and stories - recently also with the help of artificial intelligence. With the title, he refers to the "simple" early cinema of the years up to 1929, which he sees as a means of consolation in difficult times: "One must not deny or gloss over the bitter reality. Consolation, as it belongs to the concept of cinema, is based on something that film can do by its very nature: It is a play of light. 'Light comforts in the night'."
