2024, Kenya: Kenyan youth rise up against the draft budget (Finance Bill 2024). The movement, which began online, evolves into one of the most defining uprisings in the country’s history. THE PEOPLE SHALL chronicles the courage, grief, anger, and hope of a generation demanding greater political accountability, dignity, and a different future. In this documentary, filmmakers Mark Maina and Nick Wambugu bear witness to the resistance and pay tribute to all those who rose up, were injured, or lost their lives in the struggle for a more responsible Kenya.
