„Vorhof zur Hölle“ Lesung und Gespräch
In the organizer's words:
"Wars and their consequences have once again come into the public spotlight. Dr. Michael Laska presents his father’s account—Franz Laska (1920–2005)—of his five years as a prisoner of war in the Soviet Union. Franz Laska, a former German soldier, documented his experiences during his captivity from August 1944 to May 1949 in a factual account that he wrote in the 1990s and subsequently passed on to his children. The account remained in Dr. Laska’s possession for years until he rediscovered it in early 2025. This marked the beginning of a project aimed at publishing the account in an appropriate format. The publication finally took place in early 2026."
