Already at the age of 10 Ida-Maria Sommerfeldt aka Bush.ida understood that what happens in rap is somehow different. Different in the sense of... Angry? Political? Outlet?Empowering? The latter last. When it took refuge in sweatpants from toxic family relationships to hip-hop parties, women were objects and queer people nonexistent. Did it still take academic excursions into sociology and sustainability science, depressive fuck-ups about the world, and the absolutely undeniable realization that not only the private but the climatic is feminist. Bush.ida is not a product of chance. Bush.ida is providence of fate. Bush.ida is her liberation from patriarchy. Bush.ida is the conglomerate of banger rap, linguistic acrobatics and radical softness. Bush.ida was born long before her time. She saw the green light of day in 2019 on a fateful evening of LITCLITNIGHT, the party of the Geschlecht.Macht.Gesellschaft series at Leuphana University Lüneburg, when she performed her song "O.L.E." on a whim at the end of her DJ set. After that, it was clear that all of it - the fun, the anger, the lyrics, the desire, the music, but also the privilege and the responsibility - had to culminate right here. If that wasn't enough, the lottery of life immediately threw her DJ Julio Paradise and producing allies Moglii and LLUCID.

Then the rest of the Possy came all by itself: The 365 fe*male MCs (Portrait) and the Awesome Hip-Hop Humans (Bush.ida's own contribution to Sookee's and Gazal's anthology), the gigs for the people (Lunatic Festival, Cheesecake Festival, She-La Party Munich, Zugvogel Festival, Skandaløs, shows with Liser, Mariybu, Moglii and Babsi Tollwut) and the planet (Fridays for Future Cologne) and the supporters and the fellow fighters and the music people and creatives - like mother nature's root network, where everyone is allowed to come as they like. Bush.ida combines rap, feminism and environmental activism. Bush.ida is the role model that the 10-year-old in the backwater needed. Bush.ida is there. "Will come in Bush!"
