Welcome to Wonderland!—a place beyond all convention, far beyond mountains and seas, where water tastes like syrup and delicacies await in abundance. With their new production, Guido Markowitz and Mar Rodríguez Valverde open up a world that seems both familiar and strange: light, playful, full of dance surprises, and subtle, humorous nuances.
It is a warm, sunny summer day when an illustrious group sets out on a boat ride—including the three Liddell sisters. The pleasant rocking of the water marks the beginning of a fantastic adventure for the youngest of the sisters, Alice. After a long, dizzying fall, she finds herself in a room full of doors, where even her own size seems questionable. When a white rabbit appears and invites her to follow him, a journey begins through a realm where nothing is as it seems.
We encounter a flamingo ballet, an absurd game of croquet, as well as dancing lobsters and crabs performing waltzes in peculiar formations. Next door, a bird ball is in full swing, while a broadly grinning cat emerges from the thicket. The characters of this wonderland laugh, glide, and whirl through a sun-drenched space where logic takes a back seat and imagination takes the reins.
