When the dancers of the Bavarian Junior Ballet—the junior company of the Bavarian State Ballet—take the stage, their youthful energy immediately spreads to the audience. Founded in 2010 as Germany’s first junior company, the ensemble—with sixteen members between the ages of 17 and 20—remains the largest of its kind to this day. It has long been dancing beyond the borders of Bavaria, winning the hearts of audiences in numerous European cities as cultural ambassadors. After spending a maximum of two years with the company, former members go on to join renowned companies such as the Bavarian State Ballet, the Stuttgart Ballet, the Hamburg Ballet, or the Berlin State Ballet. 

The “Tanzstrahlen!” program invites you into a world full of moving performances, fascinating choreography, and unforgettable moments that bring dance to life in all its splendor. The high quality of this young company is reflected in a multifaceted program featuring classical, neoclassical, and contemporary works from the international repertoire. Works by established choreographers are paired with creations by promising emerging talents, offering a vibrant introduction to the diverse forms of expression found in ballet and contemporary dance. This creates an energy in the auditorium that captivates audiences of all ages alike.
