Shalom Musik Köln: AVI AVITAL & OMER KLEIN

Two exceptional musicians, one special festival evening: Avi Avital, Grammy-nominated mandolinist, and Omer Klein, one of the leading jazz pianists of his generation, come together in this duo.

What they have in common is a love of musical dialog. Between early music, jazz and Mediterranean influences, they create a sound that is constantly changing - open, lively and full of surprises. Their own compositions are juxtaposed with Israeli songs and free interpretations that leave room for improvisation and spontaneous encounters.

A special moment of the evening is Avital's arrangement of Bach's Partita for violin: When Klein's improvisations kick in, it becomes more than an interpretation - something new is created in the moment.

A concert full of virtuosity, energy and tonal curiosity - and one of the musical highlights of SHALOM-MUSIK.KOELN 2026.
