»Straßen Namen Leuchten. Ein Denkmal für die Familie Mann« Ein Abend mit Albert Coers

In the organizer's words:

Welcome: Tanja Graf
Conversation: Florian Matzner

With his project "Straßen Namen Leuchten", artist Albert Coers has created a poetic monument to the Mann family - the amazing family, Germany's most famous family of writers. Munich, Zurich, Sanary-sur-Mer or Los Angeles: on Salvatorplatz behind the Literaturhaus, historical street signs and lanterns commemorate the lives and places of Thomas and Katia Mann and their six children, expressing their experience of exile and internationality. The recently published volume (Kerber Verlag) documents this extraordinary art project in texts and pictures like a logbook. The editor of the volume, Florian Matzner (Akademie der Bildenden Künste München) and Albert Coers let us participate in the creation of the artwork from the initial idea to its realization and take us on a journey around the world - with the destination: Salvatorplatz, Munich!
