3 Frauen 1 Streik

Unlike some other well-known examples of the more than 300 informal strikes in 1973, the strike at the automotive supplier Pierburg in Neuss was successful and has symbolic significance. Led by migrant women and with the solidarity of their German colleagues, the workers at Pierburg succeeded in abolishing low-wage group 2!

"3 Women 1 Strike" (2023, director: Metin Yeğin) tells the story of a friendship between three women, two workers at the automotive supplier Pierburg in Neuss and an ice cream seller outside the factory. A deep friendship develops that is to last half a century: Together they fight for equal pay for equal work and for fundamental equality between women and men. A story that still influences our (working) world today.

The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation NRW is showing the film in cooperation with the Filmhaus Köln as part of its series "'Your fight is our fight' - Strike 1973 to 2023 and beyond".
