Alhousseini Anivolla is the lead guitarist and singer of the desert blues band Etran Finatawa from Niger. His playing is characterized by subtle touch variations, slight distortions and bluesy phrases over long, trance-like riffs. Since 2014, he has also been performing with his band Anewal, which combines traditional North African song structures with hypnotic chords, trance-like beats, bluesy guitars and his warm voice.
