Away from Home...
Festive opening night featuring contemporary poetry, prose, and music by Belarusian artists based in Berlin
featuringJulia Cimafiejeva (poetry), who recounts her family’s life over the course of a century and their “journey away from home,”
featuringAlhierd Bacharevič (prose), who asks, “What does it mean today to be a writer, an emigrant, a man, a Belarusian, a European? Above all, what does it mean to be human?”
featuringWTBSK (Sveta Ben, vocals/lyrics & Sergey Novitsky, electronics), whose music is a blend of trip-hop, noise, techno, and psychedelic and explores themes of exile, hope, and the reality in Belarus.
