La Chandeleur
In the organizer's words:
Every year on February 2, people of all ages in France look forward to enjoying lots of crêpes. It’s the feast of the CHANDELEUR: Candlemas.
The origins of this tradition are lost in the mists of time. What delights all sweet tooths today is the wide variety of sweet options: crêpes dusted with sugar, spread with jam or nut nougat cream, topped with fruit, flambéed, or served with ice cream. The most famous example is the Crêpe Suzette, an elaborate creation.
